May 19th, 2008 Nessing Medical Outreach #4

We had the wonderful opportunity to stay in Nessing one day longer than last year. This meant one more day without a shower, one more day sleeping in tents on the hard floor, but most importantly, it meant one more day with the beautiful people of Nessing. We were able to conduct a fourth clinic day for the people of Haku and Grey and for the people of Nessing that were not able to make it to the first 3 days of clinic. We also had time to visit many of the village believers' homes to pray for them and really see how the people of Nessing live. At church on Saturday, two babies were dedicated to the Lord and given biblical names (Joshua and Caleb). We had the opportunity to pray for these two babies and their mothers in their homes. Most of the husbands were not home. They were either away in the fields or in another country getting work training.

The most powerful part of the day was when we prayed for Kamitasi (the village leader and the first believer in Nessing). We heard that he was drinking more lately and getting into nasty fights and even spend a few nights in jail for beating a man. He hadn't been around the clinic for several days and finally showed up. We visited his home and began encouraging him in the Lord and sharing more of Jesus' love with him and he began to weep. I felt the Holy Spirit in that room and knew that this was the reason we were there. We needed to encourage his walk with the Lord and hopefully Jesus will change his ways. I walked out of his house with tears in my eyes and a feeling of peace that this was part of our purpose of going to Nessing.
At night our team (Hawaii, Nepal and Nessing) worshipped the Lord together and shared encouraging words with each other about how we were blessed by our time and ministry together. I was reflecting on all the wonderful relationships we have built and we have such a strong bond with the entire team. I am truly going to miss them and I can't wait to come back to Nessing to visit our friends and FAMILY!!
